Had a wonderful gathering at the Dunnville library and this was a special event, as it was my dad’s hometown along with the fact that a number of scenes mentioned in Paddy O’Neil’s Trunk were set in and around the area. Met with some folks who had an intimate knowledge of the farm house upon which the home described in the book is based.
Great thanks to the Dunnville District Heritage Society and the Haldimand Public Libraries for making this event possible. The cookies and coffee were great too.

I read a section of Paddy O’Neil’s Trunk, in a program shared with another writer. Delightful time and thanks to Wanda Schubmehl for moderating the event.
Now in its 34th year, the Genesee Reading Series is a smorgasbord for your literary palate. Come every month on the second Tuesday, and by the end of the year, you will have feasted on the work of 24 regional authors (some prominent, some emerging; writers of fiction, poetry, essay, creative nonfiction, memoir). It’s up close and personal in the intimate Performance Space upstairs – stay afterwards and talk to the authors while eating cookies.
Paddy O’Neil’s Trunk is a story of remembrance and homecoming.
